Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®
Improve your home and save hundreds—or even more—on energy costs! By receiving a free or reduced cost comprehensive home energy assessment , you are taking the first step to improve the comfort level inside your home and remove inefficiencies that lead to higher energy costs.

All New York State homeowners can participate in the program, starting with a comprehensive home energy assessment. From there, your eligibility for cashback incentives will depend on your utility provider and the measures you choose. Special loan rates are available if your credit score qualifies you, and additional subsidies are available for income-eligible consumers.
PathStone will provide assistance at all steps of the process to eligible households within the Finger Lakes Region. Fill out the intake form to get started today!

Participating in The Program:
When you participate in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program you will be working with a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Accredited Home Performance Contractor. BPI Contractors have been trained in taking a ‘whole-house’ approach when testing your home and identifying where energy efficiency upgrades can be made. Eligible measures and minimum equipment standards for this grant program are generally similar to those required for 1-4 family homes under the New York Residential Loan Fund, with a few exceptions.

To ensure that the work is done properly and homeowners are protected, contractors must be accredited by BPI to qualify to work in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program. This means that each contractor meets high standards for quality, ensuring that energy upgrades are done professionally and correctly. In addition, 10-15 percent of the installations that are performed under the program are quality-reviewed by a third party. If this inspection reveals work that was not done correctly, the work will be redone to meet specifications, at no cost to the homeowner.
